Notes: Platypus perrisi is an ambrosia beetle known primarily from Asia. This study appears to represent the first official report of Platypus perrisi from the African continent ( Wood & Bright 1992). However, as this specimen was identified by Schedl, its identification should be treated with some scrutiny until it can be verified.
