Type species: Microphorites extinctus Hennig, 1971 ( Lower Cretaceous , Lebanese amber) .
Diagnosis. Eyes bare; antennae located near the middle of anterior margins of the eyes; arista 2-articled. Crossvein bm-m complete; anal lobe not right-angled. Male terminalia rotated and lateroflexed to the right. Female without acanthophorites on tergite 10; female cercus heavily sclerotized, held horizontally, with short setae.
