Acerocnema View in CoL of Korea
With one new species and newly recorded species of Acerocnema from this study, a total of eight species in four genera of Scathophagidae have been reported in the Korean fauna. Given this newly recorded genus, Acerocnema is characterized by its small size and association with the early spring flowering of Corydalis species, it is conceivable that this genus may have been previously overlooked by researchers. Considering that all described Palaearctic Acerocnema species have been documented in neighboring countries such as Russia and Japan, and with approximately 40 species of Corydalis known to inhabit Korea, it is likely that further species remain undiscovered in the Korean peninsula.
