Poecilimon anatolicus Ramme, 1933 View in CoL sp. rev.
Material examined. Turkey: Brussa, [Bursa Prov., Uludağ], Coll. Br. v.W ., Türk 1870, DORSA BTpoeanaS05, 1 male (Lectotype, here designated), DORSA BTpoeanaS09, 1 female (paralectotype); Anatolien, Karacabey, 1932, 2 males, 2 females (paralectotypes) (d. Wichgraft ) ( MfN); Brussa, 3 males, 1 female (paralectotypes) (det. Br. v.W. as P. flavescens ) ( NMW) .
Non-types : Turkey: Brussa, 1 female (det. Br. v.W. as P. flavescens ) ( NMW); Anatolien, Karacabey, 1932, 1 male, 2 females (d. Wichgraft); NW Anatolien, Bithyn. Olymp. B. Brussa, 1900–2000 m, 13– 14.8.1937, 3 males, 1 female (Ramme) ( MfN) .
Remarks. Ramme (1933) did not provide any information about the type specimens or the label data in his original description. However, he mentioned the type specimens again in 1951 ( Ramme 1951: 338). According to him, the type series of P. anatolicus includes 4 males and 2 females from Brunner’s “ flavescens ” types in NMW, as well as 2 males and 2 females from Asia Minor in MfN. The type series is detailed in the first paragraph of the Material Examined section above. Currently, one male and one female of Brunner’s specimens are deposited in MfN, while the others are not included in the type series.
Furthermore, neither Ramme (1933, 1951) nor subsequent authors designated a holotype or lectotype for this species. The type series encompasses two locations. Therefore, one male from Brunner’s specimens in MfN is here designated as the lectotype. It is evident that Ramme (1933) primarily described and illustrated this male. After a careful comparison of all listed specimens and a thorough review of their history, it has been determined that the exact location of Brunner’s specimens is Uludağ, Bursa Province.
According to Kaya et al. (2012) and Chobanov et al. (2015), this species is considered a synonym of P. sureyanus . As shown in Ünal (2010, Figs. 79 and 81 View FIGURES 55–81. 55–64 ) and Ünal (2012), both species can be easily distinguished morphologically. The allotype female of P. sureyanus , described by Uvarov in 1930, actually belongs to Isophya amplipennis ( Bey-Bienko, 1954) , yet it continues to be listed under P. sureyanus on OSF. The distinction between P. sureyanus and P. anatolicus is confirmed by the lectotype of P. anatolicus deposited at the Museum für Naturkunde (MfN). The selection of this lectotype also establishes Uludağ as the type locality for P. anatolicus .
