Poecilimon amissus Brunner von Wattenwyl, 1878 View in CoL
Material examined. Turkey: [İzmir Prov.], Bosdagh [Bozdağ], 1 male (Lectotype, here designated) (leg. Lederer) ; Smyrna [İzmir], 2 males, 1 female (Br.v.W.) (syntypes of P. smyrnensis ) ( NMW) .
Remarks. Brunner (1878: 44) described this species based on 1 male and 1 female syntype. This single male is here designated as lectotype to fix the sex and the name-bearing type (see the Introduction and Material and method sections). At the type locality, Bozdağ, more than one species of Poecilimon occurs. Since it is easier to confuse the females, the name-bearing type should, therefore, be the male for this species. The single female (syntype) has not been found in the collections of the NMW and MfN. Other specimens labelled as syntypes under this species in the same collection of the NMW belong to P. smyrnensis , a synonym of this species.
