Isophya acuminata Brunner von Wattenwyl, 1878 View in CoL
Material examined. TURKEY: Amasia [Amasya], 1 male (Nr. 5564) (Lectotype, here designated) (leg. Lederer) (det. Br. v.W.) ; Amasia, 8 males, 3 females (leg. Lederer) (det. Br. v.W.) ; Amasia, 1860, 2 males (leg. Mann) ( NMW) .
Remarks. Brunner (1878: 69) described both sexes of this species in the original description. The type specimens are syntypes. Although they collected from the same location, for the reason explained in the Introduction and Material and Methods sections. The name-bearing type should be fixed. One male, with the 5564 specimen number, which was given in the original description, is designated here as lectotype.
This species was synonymized with I. schneideri by the author ( Ünal 2005: 429). Later, it is given as a valid species ( Mol et al. 2016, OSF). The similarity between the two species is very great. The male tegmina in the type specimen has a longer CuP; this part of the tegmen reaches beyond the pronotum laterally in I. schneideri , but it is shorter in the type of I. acuminata . However, I. schneideri populations are variable as stated in Ünal (2005). I think that I. hakkarica Karabağ, 1962 may also be a synonym with these two species or a very close relative. Morphological separation of them is very difficult. All three species are found in the eastern half of Anatolia. Their type localities are quite distant compared with many other species of Isophya . For the present, this species is listed here, with reservation.
