Remarks. This study addresses the question of whether Pholidoptera femorata exists in İstanbul Province. Werner (1901: 293–294) recorded Pholidoptera femorata (previously classified as Thamnotrizon femoratus Fieb. ) from Constantinople in July 1900. Ebner (1910: 412) included Pholidoptera femorata in his list, referencing Werner’s location “Schischli (Werner).” Subsequently, Ebner (1919: 158) reported Pholidoptera fallax for the first time after identifying a female specimen collected by Fahringer from Kleinasien ( Anatolia). Karabağ (1958: 62) also listed Pholidoptera femorata from İstanbul, again citing Werner (1901).

However, upon reviewing these three specimens collected by Fahringer and Werner, the author has re-identified them as P. fallax . As a result, P. femorata is excluded from the fauna of İstanbul. Currently, P. femorata is only known from İzmir and Aydın Provinces of Turkey ( Ünal 2006, 2012).
