Remarks. This subspecies was first described by Götz (1970: 189) from Karacabey in Bursa Province, Turkey. However, it has not been included in checklists, catalogues, or articles related to Turkish fauna, except for a reference by Ünal (2011). The type material has been examined, and previous records of D. verrucivorus from Turkey, given by the author, actually belong to this subspecies. Additionally, the type locality of the nominotypical subspecies is Uppsala, Sweden, which is quite far from Turkey. Therefore, the earlier records of D. verrucivorus in Turkey should be classified under this subspecies.
