Pinulasma fistulosum Reiswig & Stone, 2013 View in CoL
( Figure 9 View FIGURE 9 )
Material. Unfortunately this interesting sponge having very specific external shape was not captured but several specimens were observed from the ROV: RV ‘Akademik M.A. Lavrentyev’—75, ROV ‘Comanche’—several stations from the Piip Volcano slope at depth 1500–2500 m.
Remarks. The species was described from the southern-central part of the Bering Sea. It was captured at a single station and recorded during numerous ROV observations, sometimes in dense aggregations around the Aleutian Islands, 773–2084 m depth ( Reiswig and Stone, 2013). Now the distribution of this peculiar genus becomes wider.
