( Figs. 24–26 View FIGURES 20–26 )
The specimens studied here were identified as Heza phthinica following the diagnostic characteristics cited by Swanson (2021) such as the reddish-brown legs ( Figs. 24–25 View FIGURES 20–26 ) and the median process of the pygophore being tall with a convex apex and concave lateral margins ( Fig. 26 View FIGURES 20–26 ). The species was described based on three males only, which measured a total length of 17.3 / 18.0 mm and 17.8 / 18.3 mm to the tip of abdomen and hemelytra, respectively ( Swanson 2021). In our specimens the female and the male measured 21.5 / 21.3 mm and 17.0 / 17.2 mm to the tip of abdomen and hemelytra, respectively. Therefore, the dimensions of the males seemed to be within a similar range. On the other hand, except for the larger length of the female, no other difference was noted between the male and female examined here.
Distribution. Brazil, French Guiana ( new record), Peru.
Material examined. FRENCH GUIANA, Region Kaw , pk 28, attracted by light, xii.1997, leg. H. Gaspard, 1 female, 1 male ( MNRJ) .
