Revised description. Very small, slender fusiform shell; apical angle 40°. Protoconch broad conical of 3 smooth, convex whorls. Teleoconch of up to four whorls. Suture moderately incised. Early teleoconch whorls with steep, weakly concave subsutural ramp and shoulder placed short distance above suture. Axial sculpture of nine prominent ribs. Spiral sculpture of two prominent cords (SP, P1 stronger), forming rounded tubercles at intersections with ribs; P1 forming pointed tubercles on last whorls. P2 appearing at abapical suture on third teleoconch whorl. Last whorl attaining ~60% of total height, with angled shoulder, weakly convex periphery, rapidly contracting below. Eight prominent ribs with trigonal cross-section, resulting in stellate outline in apical view. SP, P1–P3 forming broad, prominent cords; IP (sutural ramp), P4, P5 (siphonal canal weak, narrow; s1, s2, s3 weak with two subequal tertiary threads on either side. Growth lines very weak. Rounded tubercles formed at intersections where primary cords overrun axial ribs; P1 with pointed tubercles. Fasciole weakly swollen.Aperture narrowly ovate. Outer lip thickened, with prominent, rounded D1–D4; D1 stronger; ID weak or missing. Anal canal distinctly incised, accentuated by weak parietal denticle. Siphonal canal moderately long, narrow, open, slightly bent to the left Columella straight with three weak columellar denticles. Columellar callus forming broad, sharply delimited rim, erect at siphonal canal, adherent in parietal area.
Discussion. Claremontiella bellardii ( Hoernes & Auinger, 1890) differs from Claremontiella pauli ( Hilber, 1882) in its smaller size and slenderer outline. Claremontiella augustae ( Boettger, 1902) is of similar size but C. bellardii forms more pointed tubercles over varices of P1. Claremontiella bellardii has P4 and P5 both developed whereas P4 is of intermediate strength in C. augustae and P5 is not developed. Moreover, C. bellardii has a considerably longer siphonal canal.
Paleoenvironment. Shallow marine, inner neritic.
Distribution in Central Paratethys. Badenian (Middle Miocene): Pannonian Basin: Letkés ( Hungary) ( Kovács et al. 2018); Bakony Mountains: Bánd ( Hungary) ( Kovács 2020); Făget Basin: Lăpugiu de Sus, CoŞteiu de Sus ( Romania) ( Boettger 1906; Kovács 2019).
