Revised description. Small, solid, biconic shell with squamose appearance; apical angle 55°. Protoconch unknown. Teleoconch of five whorls. Spire moderately high. Suture deeply incised. Axial sculpture of broad, high, rounded, squamose varices (seven on spire whorls, six on last whorl). Spiral sculpture; IP faint (on antepenultimate and penultimate whorls), P1 and P2 prominent; P3 just visible at abapical suture on penultimate whorl. Last whorl attaining 68% of total height, moderately convex. IP weak, P1–P5 broad, prominent, ADP slightly weaker; weak abis and s2; P6 atrophied. Base weakly constricted. Aperture small, roundly ovate. Outer lip with crenulate edge; no denticles. Anal canal indistinct. Siphonal canal of medium length, dorsally recurved, open, deeply notched. Columella moderately excavated in adapical half, angled at transition to siphonal canal. Columellar callus forming broad rim, partially erect.

Discussion. Landau et al. (2007: 46) listed Favartia kostejana ( Boettger, 1902) with question mark in their chresonymy of Favartia suboblonga (d’Orbigny, 1952) . However, they differ in the more globose outline of F. suboblonga and the largely atrophied secondary cords in Favartia kostejana (see Merle et al. 2022: pl. 57, figs. 1–7 for Favartia suboblonga ). Favartia czjzeki (Hoernes & Auinger, 1885) differs in its higher spire, less squamose sculpture and more constricted base. The squamose sculpture allows also a separation from Favartia absona ( De Cristofori & Jan, 1832) .

Paleoenvironment. Unknown.

Distribution in Central Paratethys. Badenian (Middle Miocene): Făget Basin: CoŞteiu de Sus, Lăpugiu de Sus ( Romania) ( Boettger 1902).
