Description. See Kovács (2018: 32).
Discussion. Dermomurex (Dermomurex) nemethi (Kovács, 2018) differs from Dermomurex (Dermomurex) distinctus ( de Cristofori & Jan, 1832) in its lower last whorl, much weaker varices and weaker spiral cords. This species was established by Kovács (2018) in the subgenus Gracilimurex Thiele, 1929 [type species Murex bicolor Thiele, 1929 = Gracilimurex bakeri (Hertlein & A. M. Strong, 1951) ; present-day, California]. Its bivaricate shape of the last whorl is reminiscent of Dermomurex (Gracilimurex) . However, the three known species of Dermomurex (Gracilimurex) differ by having a slenderer shape, the presence of internal denticles (ID, D1–D4) and more elongated varices ( Merle et al. 2011: 215–217; Merle et al. 2024: fig. 4). Although it displays a bivaricate shape on last whorl, Dermomurex nemethi bears sculpture that is closer to that of Dermomurex (Dermomurex) species and is therefore attributed to this subgenus.
Paleoenvironment. The locality Letkés ( Hungary) represents inner neritic environments with corals ( Kovács & Vicián 2014).
Distribution in Central Paratethys. Badenian (Middle Miocene): Pannonian Basin: Letkés ( Hungary) ( Kovács et al. 2018).
Subgenus Trialatella Berry, 1964
