* Leptoconchus rollei n. sp. — Boettger 1906: 36.

Magilus rollei (Boettger) — Zilch 1934: 252, pl. 15, fig. 84.

Type material. Lectotype (designated by Zilch 1934: 252): SFM 366523 (=12-2251a), SL: 8.7 mm, MD: 6.4 mm, CoŞteiu de Sus ( Romania), illustrated in Zilch (1934: pl. 15, fig. 84), figs. 47D 1 –D 2.

Revised description. Small, spherical shell; apical angle 95°. Protoconch worn, low conical. Teleoconch of up to four whorls. First teleoconch whorl with broad, weakly convex subsutural ramp and slightly keeled shoulder marked by P1 at abapical suture. Shoulder covered by subsequent whorl starting from second teleoconch whorl. Axial sculpture of delicate, close-set growth lines. Suture superficial. Last whorl attaining 80% of total height, inflated, globose, slowly contracting below periphery. Spiral sculpture of prominent, broad P1–P5; no secondary cords. Axial sculpture of raised, scabrose growth lines; widely spaced on primary cords, more close set in spiral interspaces. Growth lines most prominent on subsutural ramp, reaching over suture on last spire whorl. Fasciole indistinct. Aperture only partly preserved. Columellar callus forming thin, adherent rim, poorly delimited from base. Columella nearly straight, smooth. Anal canal, outer lip and siphonal canal not preserved.

Discussion. Leptoconchus jaegeri Boettger, 1906 is reminiscent of the extant Leptoconchus peronii ( Lamarck, 1818) , from the Indian Ocean, in its globose shape but differs in its much coarser scabrose sculpture. Lozouet & Renard (1998: 177) placed Leptoconchus rollei Boettger, 1906 in synonymy of Leptoconchus jaegeri Rolle, 1863 with a question mark. They differ quite distinctly by the globose outline of Leptoconchus rollei and in its strongly raised, scabrose growth lines. Leptoconchus duvergieri ( Cossmann & Peyrot, 1923) , from the Early Miocene of France, differs in its more numerous cords ( Lozouet & Renard (1998: fig. 5/1–8).

Paleoenvironment. Unknown.

Distribution in Central Paratethys. Badenian (Middle Miocene): Făget Basin: CoŞteiu de Sus ( Romania) ( Boettger 1906).

Note on Coralliophila subscarrosa Kovács & Vicián, 2024

This species from the Badenian of Hungary was tentatively placed in Ocinebrina Jousseaume, 1880 by Harzhauser et al. (2025: 96) based on the P5 cord being more prominent than other adjacent primary cords (P3–P4). This character does not occur in Coralliophila . For illustrations see Kovács et al. 2018: 129, figs. 9L–M, Kovács & Vicián, 2024: 17, figs. 37–39 and Harzhauser et al. 2025: fig. 46.
