In API 20NE, positive for glucose fermentation, gelatinase and β -galactosidase, but negative for nitrate reduction, indole production, arginine dihydrolase, urease and esculin hydrolysis. Utilize D-glucose, Dmannose, N -acetyl-glucosamine, D-maltose, potassium gluconate and malic acid. Does not utilize L-arabinose, adipic acid, D-mannitol, capric acid, trisodium citrate and phenylacetic acid.
