Description of Streptomyces violarus MMS View in CoL 21-305
Cells are Gram-staining-positive, non-flagellated and rod-shaped. Colonies are filamentous, raised, undulate and yellow color after 3 days on R2A at 30℃. In API 20NE, positive for nitrate reduction, urease, glucose fermentation, gelatinase and β -galactosidase, but negative for esculin hydrolysis, indole production and arginine dihydrolase. Utilize D-glucose, L-arabinose, D-mannose, D-mannitol, potassium gluconate, malic acid, trisodium citrate, N -acetyl-glucosamine, D-maltose and adipic acid. Does not utilize capric acid and phenylacetic acid. Strain MMS21-305 (= NNIBR2021642BA46) has been isolated from a freshwater sample, Gimhae-si, Korea.
