Neoclytus pallidicornis Fisher 1932: 58 , new synonym

Remarks. Examination of the holotype of Neoclytus pallidicornis Fisher, 1932 ( Fig. 22a ) and the original description and photo of the holotype of Clytus podagricus White, 1855 ( Bezark 2024) reveals that there are no characters to distinguish them. Two specimens of N. podagricus that were collected by R. Turnbow at nearly the same localities in the Dominican Republic ( Fig. 22b, c ) show variation in integumental color (one is black and the other light brown), so this character, along with trivial differences in the density of white elytral pubescence are not reason enough to distinguish the species. In fact, one can see the outline of the pubescence pattern on the holotype of N. pallidicornis and it matches that of N. podagricus . All specimens have light yellow-orange antennae. Therefore, N. pallidicornis is a new synonym of N. podagricus .
