Cnestus murayamai Schedl, 1962: 207 View in CoL . Replacement name for C. pallidipennis View in CoL ( Murayama 1950b nec Eggers 1940).

Distribution: Japan, Korea, Taiwan. The species also occurs in northern Thailand (RAB unpublished records). [2a]

Hosts: Actinodaphne lancifolia , Cinnamomum camphora , Machilus thunbergii (Lauraceae) , Quercus aliena (Fagaceae) . Bred from Cinnamomum camphora in Taiwan (LYL). The records suggest a strong preference for Lauraceae . There is only a single record from Quercus in Korea ( Choo & Woo 1985).
