Diagnosis
Body ovate, or more or less elongated, moderately convex, medium sized. Head broader than long; clypeus free, usually as long as paraclypei, its subapical part with or without a pair of hair-like setae; each paraclypeus with setigerous punctures bearing hair-like setae only, pegs and peg-like setae absent; eyes from small to large, each with the apical seta; ocelli present; antennae 5-segmented, segments cylindrical. Pronotum broader than long, narrowed anteriorly, disc undivided into lobes; anterior margin angularly insinuated, the posterior almost straight; umbones not swollen; each lateral margin with setigerous punctures bearing hair-like setae. Scutellum longer than broad, its apex tongue-like, elongated. Corium divided into clavus, meso- and exocorium; costa with or without setigerous punctures; membranal suture almost straight; membrane normally developed, usually reaching the tip of abdomen. Evaporative areas on meso- and metapleuron well developed, apex of peritreme modified into lobe-like auricle, osteolar opening on ventral side, clearly visible.
