Remarks Te small to medium-sized otoliths of Coelorinchus display similar outline to those of Coelorinchus formosanus Okamura, 1963 , characterized by having a notable elevation in the anterior part of the dorsal rim

( Fig. 10a–e ). However, it is important to note that other closely related Coelorinchus species exist. Terefore, when it comes to species identification based on juvenile or subadult individuals, we adopt a conservative approach.
