Residual syntypes: IRAN. Prov. Tehran: in aridis ad Tehran, 1838, P. M. R. Aucher-Eloy 5043 (G-BOIS: G00008777 !, G00008778 !; G00158029 !, MO-176216!, P03287281 !) .
= C. intricata var. macrocarpa Bentham View in CoL in Candolle (1846: 247).
≡ Verbascum macrocarpum (Bentham) Kuntze (1891: 469) View in CoL , nom. illeg., non Boissier (1853: 6).
Note: Two syntypes ( Kotschy 581 and Aucher-Eloy 5043) were cited in the protologue of Celsia aucheri View in CoL ( Verbascum aucheri View in CoL ) ( Boissier 1853). The sheet “ Kotschy 581 ” preserved at G is here selected as lectotype because the characters of the specimen agree closely with the protologue.
Distribution:— Endemic to Iran.
