Habitat:—Alluvial Araucaria Forest and Alluvial Seasonal Semideciduous Forest , growing on the banks of the Barra Grande and Tapera rivers.
Geographic distribution:—Ortigueira: G. Hatschbach 21472 (MBM!). Laranjeiras do Sul: G. Hatschbach & O. Guimarães 19291 (MBM!).
Number of gatherings:—3. Most recent record:—1969.
Preliminary conservation status:—Critically endangered (CR – B2ab[ii,iii]). AOO = 8 km 2.
