Habitat:—This species grows in edges of the Montane Atlantic Rainforest, at an elevation of 700–800 m a.s.l. Geographic distribution:—Morretes: P.L. Viana & N.F.O. Mota 4401 (MBM!).

Preliminary conservation status:—Critically endangered (CR – B2ab[ii,iii]). AOO = 8 km 2.
