Life form:—Shrub.
Habitat:—Cloud Forest and High Altitude Tropical Grasslands, growing in Marumbi mountain range and Ibitiraquire mountain range on granitic rocky outcrops and shallow soil, at an elevation of 1174–1800 m a.s.l.
Geographic distribution:—Antonina: A.J. Dunaiski et al. 1505 (MBM!). Campina Grande do Sul: O.S. Ribas et al. 7013 (MBM!). Morretes: E.F. Costa et al. 43 (MBM!). Tijucas do Sul: D. Roher & V. Daniel s.n. (MBM!).

Preliminary conservation status:—Endangered (EN – B1ab[i,ii,iii]+B2ab[i,ii,iii]). EOO = 356.143 km 2 and AOO = 40 km 2.
Conservation unit:—Pico do Marumbi State Park and Pico Paraná State Park.
