Life form:—Shrub.
Habitat:—The species grows in Alluvial Atlantic Forest along the Cotia and São João rivers and in Cloud Forest. Geographic distribution:—Antonina: G. Hatschbach 55634 (MBM!). Guaratuba: M.B. Scheer 590 (MBM!). Paranaguá: O.S.Ribas & E. Barbosa 4333 (MBM!).
Number of gatherings:—6. Most recent record:—2009.
Preliminary conservation status:—Endangered (EN – B1ab[i,ii,iii]+B2ab[i,ii,iii]). EOO = 765.126 km 2 and AOO = 12 km 2.
Conservation unit:—Saint-Hilaire/Lange National Park.
