Life form:—Subshrub.
Habitat:—This species occurs in the High Altitude Tropical Grasslands, growing on granitic rocky outcrops of the Ibitiraquire mountain range and Papanduva mountain range, at an elevation of 1591–1722 m a.s.l.
Geographic distribution:— Campina Grande do Sul: O.S. Ribas et al. 2866 (MBM!). Morretes: V. Ariati 280 (HUCP). Tijucas do Sul: E. Barboza et al. 184 (FUEL!).
Number of gatherings:—8. Most recent record:—2014.
Preliminary conservation status:—Endangered (EN – B1ab[i,ii,iii]+B2ab[i,ii,iii]). EOO = 152.858 km 2 and AOO = 20 km 2.
Conservation unit:—Pico Paraná State Park.
