Habitat:—Cloud Forest and High Altitude Tropical Grasslands, growing in the mountain ranges of Ibitiraquire, Marumbi, Farinha Seca and Baitaca at an elevation of 1126–1778 m a.s.l.

Geographic distribution:—Antonina: R. Ristow 694 (MBM!). Campina Grande do Sul: N. Imaguire 996 (MBM!). Morretes: E. Barboza 732 (MBM!). Piraquara: J. Cordeiro 2107 (FUEL!). Quatro Barras: R. Kummrow & F.J. Zelma 2685 (FUEL!).

Preliminary conservation status:—Endangered (EN – B1ab[i,ii,iii]+B2ab[i,ii,iii]). EOO = 245.984 km 2 and AOO = 56 km 2.
