Life form:—Subshrub.
Habitat:—This species occurs in the Cerrado and Subtropical Highland Grasslands, growing in crevices of sandstone outcrops at an elevation of 870–1200 m a.s.l.
Geographic distribution:—Jaguariaíva: E. Barboza & E.F. Costa 1287 (HCF). Piraí do Sul: G. Hatschbach 3877 (MBM!). Ponta Grossa: A.C. Brade 19602 (MBM!).
Number of gatherings:—4. Most recent record:—2006.
Preliminary conservation status:—Endangered (EN – B1ab[i,ii,iii]+B2ab[i,ii,iii]). EOO = 1,447.059 km 2 and AOO = 12 km 2.
Conservation unit:—Cerrado State Park.
