Life form:—Shrub to small Tree.

Habitat:—The species occurs in the Cerrado and Subtropical Highland Grasslands, growing on sandstone outcrops and sand soil at an elevation of 810–970 m a.s.l.

Geographic distribution:—Balsa Nova: S.R. Ziller 1963 (MBM!). Palmeira: G. Hatschbach 31841 (MBM!). Ponta Grossa: G. Hatschbach 9578 (MBM!). Tibagi: M.R.B. Carmo 247 (EFC).

Number of gatherings:—22. Most recent record:—2015.

Preliminary conservation status:—Endangered (EN – B1ab[i,ii,iii]+B2ab[i,ii,iii]). EOO = 1,128.7 km 2 and AOO = 24 km 2.

Conservation unit:—Guartelá State Park and Vila Velha State Park.
