Life form:—Subshrub.

Habitat:—The species occurs in the Cerrado and Subtropical Highland Grasslands, growing in sand soil and sandstone outcrops at an elevation of 750–1194 m a.s.l.

Geographic distribution:—Jaguariaíva: L. von Linsingen 144 (MBM!). Piraí do Sul: J.G. Stutts 1192 (SP). Ponta Grossa: L.A. Souza 180 (HUEM). Tibagi: E.L. Siqueira 760 (MBM!). Ventania: G. Hatschbach et al. 68316 (MBM!). Number of gatherings:—11. Most recent record:—2013.

Preliminary conservation status:—Endangered (EN – B1ab[i,ii]+B2ab[i,ii]). EOO = 3,875.046 km 2 and AOO = 32 km 2.

Conservation unit:—Cerrado State Park, Guartelá State Park, and Vila Velha State Park.
