Habitat:—Subtropical Highland Grasslands, growing in sand soil at an elevation of 823–1030 m a.s.l.

Preliminary conservation status:—Endangered (EN – B1ab[i,ii,iii]+B2ab[i,ii,iii]). EOO = 481.532 km 2 and AOO = 36 km 2.
Conservation unit:—Campos Gerais National Park and Vila Velha State Park.
