Habitat:—Subtropical Highland Grasslands, growing in sand soil at an elevation of 823–1030 m a.s.l.

Geographic distribution:—Carambeí: G. Hatschbach 35478 (MBM!). Curitiba: P. Dusén 3820 (NY). Palmeira: G. Hatschbach 2708 (MBM!). Ponta Grossa: C.B. Poliquesi & E. Barboza 84 (MBM!). Teixeira Soares: J.M. Silva et al. 5146 (MBM!).

Preliminary conservation status:—Endangered (EN – B1ab[i,ii,iii]+B2ab[i,ii,iii]). EOO = 481.532 km 2 and AOO = 36 km 2.

Conservation unit:—Campos Gerais National Park and Vila Velha State Park.
