Habitat:—Cerrado, growing on marshy slopes at an elevation of 795–1281 m a.s.l.
Geographic distribution:—Carambeí: M.E. Engels et al. 839 (MBM!). Jaguariaíva: L.B. Smith et al. 14794 ( US). Piraí do Sul: G. Hatschbach 3618 (RB).
Number of gatherings:—5. Most recent record:—2013.
Preliminary conservation status:—Endangered (EN – B2ab[i,ii,iii]). EOO = 5.279, 501 km 2 and AOO = 20 km 2.
