Habitat:—Cloud Forest, growing in the mountain ranges of Baitaca, Ibitiraquire and Marumbi at an elevation of 1300 – 1765 m a.s.l.

Geographic distribution:—Antonina: E. Barboza 4086 (MBM!). Campina Grande do Sul: R. Goldenberg et al. 796 (MBM!). Morretes: R.R. Völtz et al. 1430 (UPCB!). Piraquara: G. Hatschbach 17663 (MBM!). Quatro Barras: M.L. Brotto et al. 2316 (MBM!).

Preliminary conservation status:—Endangered (EN – B1ab[i,ii,iii]+B2ab[i,ii,iii]). EOO = 434.658 km 2 and AOO = 16 km 2.

Conservation unit:— Guarinaca National Park , Pico do Marumbi State Park, and Pico Paraná State Park .
