Habitat:—Subtropical Highland Grasslands and Alluvial Araucaria Forest , growing in sand soil near sandstone outcrops and periodically flooded areas associated with Iapó River, at an elevation of 980 m a.s.l.

Geographic distribution:—Carambeí: M.E. Engels s.n. (UPCB). Castro: J.M. Silva et al. 9219 (MBM).

Preliminary conservation status:—Critically endangered (CR – B2ab[ii,iii]). AOO = 8 km 2.
