Habitat:—High Altitude Tropical Grasslands and Cloud Forest, growing in Bocaina mountain range and Capivari mountain range at an elevation of 1120–1620 m a.s.l.

Geographic distribution:—Adrianópolis: O.S. Ribas & L.M. Abe 3034 (MBM!). Bocaiúva do Sul: O.S. Ribas & E. Barboza 3156 (MBM!). Campina Grande do Sul: J. Cordeiro & J.M. Silva 716 (FUEL!). Quatro Barras: E.P. Santos et al. 393 (MBM!). Tunas do Paraná: E. Barboza et al. 260 (MBM!).
