Habitat:—This species grows in secondary Araucaria Forest at an elevation of 700–988 m a.s.l.
Geographic distribution:—Cerro Azul: J.M. Silva & E. Barboza 5032 (MBM!). Rio Branco do Sul: I. Cordeiro & O.S. Ribas 715 (FUEL!).
Number of gatherings:—8. Most recent record:—2006.
Preliminary conservation status:—Critically endangered (CR – B2ab[ii,iii]). AOO = 8 km 2.
