Life form:—Shrub.

Habitat:—Cerrado and Subtropical Highland Grasslands, growing on sandstone outcrops, sandy soil and in crevices of the sandstone banks of the Diamante, Funil and Jaguariaíva rivers. The elevation records range from 676 to 1133 m a.s.l.

Geographic distribution:—Jaguariaíva: C. Müller et al. s.n. (FUEL!). Piraí do Sul: E.D. Lozano & D.P. Saridakis 1999 (MBM!). Sengés: G. Hatschbach & R. Lange 5295 (MBM!).

Number of gatherings:—9. Most recent record:—2014.

Preliminary conservation status:—Endangered (EN – B1ab[i,ii,iii]+B2ab[i,ii,iii]). EOO = 228.804 km 2 and AOO = 20 km 2.
