Habitat:—Alluvial Araucaria Forest , growing in sand soil on the banks of the Iguaçu river. The elevation records range from 780 to 834 m a.s.l.

Geographic distribution:—Lapa: J.M. Silva et al. 3418 (MBM!). Porto Amazonas: O.S. Ribas et al. 3600 (MBM!). Number of gatherings:—9. Most recent record:—2010.

Preliminary conservation status:—Critically endangered (CR – B2ab[ii,iii]). AOO = 8 km 2.
