Life form:—Herb.
Habitat:—This species grows on sandstone outcrops, in shallow sandy soils, and in periodically flooded areas associated with Subtropical Highland Grasslands. Elevation records range from 900 to 1180 m a.s.l.
Geographic distribution:—Balsa Nova: P. Ravenna 3329 (MBM). Curitiba: G. Hatschbach 536 (MBM!). Piraí do Sul: G. Hatschbach & O. Guimarães 25418 (MBM!).
Number of gatherings:—3. Most recent record:—1970.
Preliminary conservation status:—Endangered (EN – B1ab[i,ii,iii]+B2ab[i,ii,iii]). EOO = 1,654.24 km 2 and AOO = 12 km 2.
