Type species: Svistella bifasciata Shiraki, 1911 View in CoL
Diagnosis. Body small, usually light with dark marks. Pronotum weakly narrowed anteriorly. The inner and outer sides of anterior tibiae with a tympanum. The tegmina of the male with stridulatory organ. Six dorsal spurs of hind tibia (three internal and three external). Inner apical spurs of the posterior tibia numbered two with three on the outer, and inner apical spur longer than the outer. Tip of the epiphallus sharp and long, and ectoparameres concealed in dorsal view; the lateral lobe of epiphallus curved and ectoparameres weak and small in lateral view; the ectoparameres rod-shaped or flake-shaped in ventral view.
