Positive for nitrate reduction, indole production, esculin hydrolysis, and cytochrome oxidase; but negative for glucose fermentation, arginine dihydrolase, urease, gelatin hydrolysis, and β -galactosidase in API 20NE. D-glucose, L-arabinose, D-mannose, D-mannitol, N -acetyl-glucosamine, D-maltose, potassium gluconate, capric acid, adipic acid, malic acid, trisodium citrate, and phenylacetic acid are not utilized as sole carbon sources.
