Distribution. India: Himachal Pradesh (Shimla), Sikkim, West Bengal ( Moore 1881, Hampson 1906, Benedek & Tóth 2021). Global: China, Nepal, Pakistan, Japan, Taiwan ( Owada 1983, Kobayashi et al. 1998, Benedek & Tóth 2021).
Remarks: Worldwide three subspecies, N. s. strigidisca distributed in Central and Eastern Himalayas, N. s. nigridorsi Kobayashi, 1998 distributed in Taiwan, and N. s. vargai Ronkay, Ronkay, Gyulai & Hacker, 2010 distributed in Western Himalayas.
