Remarks

Clessin (1899) introduced the name Aplysia australiana based on a shell collected in Australia. The short description and illustration matches the characteristics of other shells of A. parvula s.l., as indicated by Eales (1960). But due to the lack of additional details, we are unable to determine the identity of this species and, therefore, we regard A. australiana as a taxon inquirendum.
