The genus is characterized by prostomium with an entire anterior margin, one pair of biarticulate palps with faint transverse grooves on palpophore and subconical palp style, one pair of antennae, and two pairs of eyes. The anterior pair is more widely spaced than the posterior pair. Four pairs of tentacular cirri, each with distinct cirrophores. Parapodia 1 and 2 lacking notochaetae and notoaciculae, there after parapodia with notochaetae and notoaciculae. Notopodia are bilobed from chaetigers 3, dorsal cirrus basally attached. Notopodial prechaetal lobe present. Notoacicula ending in a ridge-shaped acicular process at the base of the ventral notopodial ligule.Dorsal notopodial ligules are similar in size and shape to ventral notopodial ligule throughout (dorsal most notopodial ligules rarely elongated). Neuropodia are bilobed throughout with ventral cirrus. Neurochaetae homogomphspinigers and heterogomph falcigers in a supra-acicular fascicle, heterogomphspinigers, and heterogomph falcigers in sub-acicular fascicle (heterogomphspinigers sometimes absent) ( Glasby and Hsieh, 2006).
