Previous record. This species was described from Khanh Hoa by Lelej (1979). Williams et al. (2019b) examined an additional specimen from the type locality.

Distribution. Laos. Myanmar. Thailand. Vietnam: Khanh Hoa.

Occurrence in Vietnam. September. Southern Vietnam lowland dry forests ecoregion.

Sex association. This species was initially described from the female only. The male was recognized by Thaochan et al. (2022) but has not been formally associated and described yet.

Remarks. This species can be separated from other Vietnamese Orientilla by the entirely reddish-orange head in females ( Lelej 1996a; Okayasu 2023b).
