Identification source. Keyed using Lelej (1996d) and compared with the original description.
Previous record. None.
Distribution. China. Laos. Myanmar. Vietnam *: Gia Lai, Dak Lak, Ninh Thuan, Dong Nai.
Occurrence in Vietnam. May, June, August. Southern Annamites montane rain forests, Southern Vietnam lowland dry forests, and Southeast Indochina dry evergreen forests ecoregions. 100–940 m alt.
Sex association. Female unknown.
Remarks. This species is the only named Mickelomyrme male with the body entirely black (except the tegula and some appendages) and the metacoxa unarmed ( Lelej 1996d). There appear to be other currently undescribed morphospecies with this combination of characters; true Mi. exiloides males have the tegula largely yellow-brown and the fringes of metasomal terga 1–4 formed from dense pale golden setae.
