Material examined. 1♀. Holotype ♀: Vietnam: VINH PHUC: Tam Dao , 900–1200 m, 6.V.1998, R. Matsumoto leg. [ VNMN].
Identification source. Voucher specimen ( Okayasu et al. 2021b).
Previous record. This species was described from Vinh Phuc in Okayasu et al. (2021b).
Distribution. Vietnam: Vinh Phuc.
Occurrence in Vietnam. May. South China-Vietnam subtropical evergreen forests ecoregion. 900–1200 m alt.
Sex association. Male unknown.
Remarks. This rare species is similar to An. substriolata ( Chen, 1957) , with some subtle structural differences ( Okayasu et al. 2021b), but it is larger in body size than any known An. substriolata specimens.
