Zeugomutilla angkorensis Williams in Lelej et al., 2017: 4 , ♂, holotype ♂ (Cát Tiên N.P., Đồng Nai, Vietnam) [RMNH]; Pagliano et al. 2020: 168.

Previous record. This species was described from Dong Nai in Lelej et al. (2017).

Distribution. Cambodia. Thailand. Vietnam: Dong Nai.

Occurrence in Vietnam. May, October. Southeast Indochina dry evergreen forests ecoregion. ca. 100 m alt.

Sex association. Female unknown.

Remarks. In most features, this species is nearly identical to the more widespread Ze. pycnopyga , but the first antennal flagellomere is very short in Ze. angkorensis . Although subtle, this feature shows great utility in diagnosing other velvet-ant species around the World, even providing a useful diagnostic feature to separate the tribes Smicromyrmini and Trogaspidiini .
