Identification source. Compared with type [SYSM]. Compared with voucher specimens from Thailand ( Williams et al. 2019b) [ CSCA] .

Previous record. This species was recorded from Nghe An and an ambiguous locality by Boutin & Vilhelmsen (2024).

Distribution. China. Laos. Malaysia. Thailand. Vietnam: Bac Kan *, Thai Nguyen *, Vinh Phuc *, Hai Phong *, Hoa Binh *, Ninh Binh *, Nghe An, Thua Thien Hue*, Da Nang *, Dak Lak *, Ninh Thuan *, Ho Chi Minh *, Dong Nai *.

Occurrence in Vietnam. January, April to June, October, November. South China-Vietnam subtropical evergreen forests, Northern Indochina subtropical forests, Northern Vietnam lowland rain forests, Southern Annamites montane rain forests, Southern Vietnam lowland dry forests, and Southeast Indochina dry evergreen forests ecoregions. 10–740 m alt. Bamboo, forest (open site).

Sex association. This species was described from both sexes collected in copula.

Remarks. Previously, two subspecies were recognized, but they overlap in distribution and their color differences form a variable gradient, which led to their formal synonymy ( Williams et al. 2019b).
