Pandarus Leach 1816 (type species Pandarus bicolor by original designation)
Females of the genus Pandarus are distinguished by the possession of three distinct segments between the cephalothorax and the dorsal plates, the presence of paired dorsal or dorsolateral plates on at least one of these segments, and of adhesion pads on the ventral surface, and through the location and distribution of the caudal rami ( Cressey, 1967; Kabata, 1979).
Males resemble females in the cephalic appendages; they lack dorsal plates, legs 1-4 are biramous with all rami two-segmented ( Cressey, 1967).
